What SnagWord's solvers do with your input
Every solver on SnagWord — the Word Unscrambler, Scrabble® finder, Words With Friends® finder, Wordle® solver, Anagram Solver, and Crossword Solver — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The letters, guesses, or patterns you type are matched against a word-list file already downloaded to your device; none of that input is ever sent to a SnagWord server, logged, or stored. This is an architectural fact about how the site is built, not a policy choice that could be quietly changed without also changing how the tools work.
Analytics and standard web logs
Like most websites, SnagWord's hosting provider may log standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and page requested) for security and performance purposes. The site also uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (which pages are visited, not what you typed into a solver). No solver input is ever part of this data.
Cookies
SnagWord does not require an account, and no cookie records the letters or guesses you enter in a solver. Cookies are set by Google Analytics, to tell one visit from another, and by Google's advertising services, as described in the next section. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies.
Advertising
SnagWord carries display advertising served by Google AdSense, which helps cover hosting and keeps every solver free. To show those ads and count how they perform, Google and its advertising partners rely on cookies; depending on your settings, the ads can be personalised from your visits to SnagWord and to other sites. Visitors from the European Economic Area or the UK are asked for consent first, through Google's own message, before any personalised-advertising cookie is used, and may withdraw or change that consent later.
Advertising has no bearing on what a page says. No word list, solver result, definition or game tip is sponsored, and advertisers do not review pages before publication. Separately, some blog, category and tool pages link to word games and puzzle books on Amazon as an affiliate, as set out in the affiliate disclosure.
To see why an ad appeared, or to turn off personalised ads, use Google My Ad Center; you can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at aboutads.info. Google describes its use of advertising cookies in How Google uses cookies in advertising.
Third-party links
SnagWord links to a small number of sister sites and, where applicable, third-party payment processors for optional donations or products. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which this policy doesn't cover — review them independently before providing any information there.
